Who We Are
NMIC is a community-based, nonprofit organization founded in 1979 that serves low-income residents of Washington Heights and Inwood, by preserving affordable housing through legal services, community organizing, and building weatherization; by promoting economic selfsufficiency through adult education and workforce development; and by stabilizing families through social services, health education, and domestic violence intervention.
What We Do
Our Legal Services, Social Services, and Weatherization programs meet community members’ basic needs including housing, immigration, income, and health.
