Who We Are

Established in 1982, Student Advocacy, Inc. is a legally based non-profit educational advocacy organization. Our offices are located in Elmsford, New York and we serve students and their families throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties. We work to protect students’ educational rights regardless of income, race, ethnicity or religious beliefs. The mission of Student Advocacy is to get students on track to graduate by advocating improved educational opportunities, protecting educational rights and fostering effective communication between families and schools. Our goal is to change the youth’s services and supports at school, to the extent that the law supports, so that the school becomes a positive place for the child’s development and education.

What We Do

Opportunities at Student Advocacy are based on the volunteer’s time constraints, interests, and experience. Volunteer opportunities include administrative hearings, agency advocacy, appellate work, legal research and writing, limited legal advice and counsel, limited scope representation, and special projects as it relates to education and special education law.
