Funded by the New York State Attorney General's Homeowner Protection Project, (HOPP), the Mortgage Foreclosure Assistance Project provides free direct legal services to homeowners facing foreclosure or concerns about being in default. We also assist with questions regarding residential tax lien foreclosures.
Staff and volunteer attorneys from the Project appear in Nassau County Supreme Court as direct representation for the day for foreclosure settlement conferences and have been doing so for over a decade. Attorneys also provide information and referrals for homeowners and court patrons seeking assistance.
Clinics and community outreach projects are also held regularly.
